Tria Laser Hair Removal Reviews – Does It Work?

I’m going to be entirely honest with you: the first couple Tria Laser Hair Removal reviews I read didn’t convince me.  In fact, I was pretty sure it was just advertising fluff and hype.  At the time, what they were promising, PERMANENT HAIR LOSS IN AS LITTLE AS 5 MONTHS, was simply unheard of.  I had a friend who had

her hair blasted off with a laser; but she had to have it done in a clinic, by a professional, and the Tria supposedly worked safely and easily in the home?! I was pretty skeptical…

It's easy to get over excited about such big promises. I've been burnt before by this and have had to learn the hard way: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, and there’s no way I would have ended up trying the Tria Laser if I hadn’t heard about the 90-DAY, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE!

I figured I could give it a shot and return it if it was garbage.  Either way, I could write about my experience and then at least others would benefit from my little experiment.

The Basics of The Tria Laser Hair Removal System

The Tria looks like a weird, cordless and rechargeable hair-dryer.  Instead of shooting a hot blast of air though, it shines a bright laser.  According to the manufacturer, the laser works in a very similar way to the lasers used in professional hair removal clinics and spas around the world.  Basically, the light travels down the shaft into the root of the follicle.  It doesn’t kill it immediately but over time, your hair will grow back thinner and thinner until it stops coming back completely.  The Tria Laser is also one of only two FDA-cleared products of its type, the other being the Silk’n SensEpil.

At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work, but naturally, I was going to have to try it out for myself.

So, Does Tria Laser Work, or What?

I know this is what quite a lot of you are looking for, so I’ll skip straight ahead to my Tria Laser hair removal results.  To put it bluntly, it works like dream!  My legs were HAIR FREE IN JUST UNDER SIX MONTHS!

I talk in more detail about exactly the kind of results I received in a moment. Before that though, I want to quickly address how the tria works so anyone worried about operating the device feels reassured.

It's not rocket science. It's actually really, really simple.  How does the Tria work? All you do is hold it against your skin, it beeps, and then you move it along to the next patch of skin, and just repeat this until you’ve covered the entire area you’re treating. That's it. Like a I said – simple, simple :)

Now, pretty much all the Tria Hair Removal reviews I read said that the laser isn’t painful, but does feel like the snapping of a warm elastic band.  I’d say that’s a fair comparison, but the settings are adjustable.  At the lowest setting, I feel almost nothing at all.  The higher the setting you can tolerate comfortably, the less overall time your treatments will take, but I’m all about the comfort, so I have it set about midway.  It never hurts.

The effects of the Tria’s laser are cumulative, so I found that, like the instructions explained, I started having less and less hair coming back as I used it more.  Not only that, but the hair that came back was thinner.

When I first started using the Tria, it took about an hour or so per leg.  As time progressed, I found it took less and less time to complete each treatment, as there was simply less hair to treat.

The instructions recommend using the Tria 2-4 times a week for the first 3 months or so, and then to decrease to around once a month.  What I found is that the schedule they give you isn’t entirely necessary; you’ll find that you just don’t need to use it as much as time goes on, BECAUSE YOUR HAIR STOPS COMING BACK!

My Results Were No Fluke

I’ve seen the Tria on shows like Rachel Ray, and I know Kim Kardashian has been on TV talking about using it. Now I'm sure Kim is get a nice pay packet to publicize the Tria (for the record, I'm not really a Kim Kardashian fan…) but when a company can afford a spokesperson like that, it’s a good sign that you’re not getting some bottom-of-the-barrel piece of dangerous plastic garbage.  Whether you agree with it or not, people like the Kardashian's make their living off their image, and I'll bet they're super particular about which products they associate themselves with.

Recently, I did a search for Tria Laser Hair Removal reviews 2013 to find the latest Tria reviews, and see how others are getting on.  What I was really looking for was whether people's hair was growing back after it had been removed “permanently”.  This article, does Tria Laser work, describes the same results as the rest of the Tria Laser Hair Removal reviews I’ve read:

"SIX MONTHS AFTER FINISHING TRIA TREATMENTS, THE HAIR HASN’T RETURNED!"

The six-month test is probably one of the best gauges of how well a supposed “permanent” hair removal product works.  My hair didn’t grow back after 6 months, and it still hasn’t grown back!

There is, of course, some variation in the time it takes to complete treatment, depending on a number of factors, like the coarseness and color of your hair, and the intensity setting you use.  People generally say it takes in the neighborhood of 6-8 months, with some people HAIR FREE IN AS LITTLE AS FIVE MONTHS!

A little more research turned up the fact that since hitting the market, the Tria has won Allure’s Beauty Breakthrough Award, as well as the Prestige Skin Care Breakthrough Award.  This would mean less if the awards came from bodies you’ve never heard of, but if you read women’s magazines, you’ve obviously heard of Allure and Prestige.  The Tria is legit!

The Tria Laser is As Safe As It Gets

One of the things I was actually sort of surprised with was the number of safety features built into the Tria.  This thing was obviously built with safety in mind, and when you consider that this kind of power had previously only been in the hands of the professionals, it’s easy to understand why.  Fortunately, you won’t hurt yourself with it.

The first time I used it, I was shocked that it required a phone call to activate. At least the folks at Tria Beauty care and activation only took at matter of minutes. After that, it does a quick skin test to make sure it’s going to be safe to use on your skin.  With certain very dark skin tones, the Tria just won’t work because there is a small risk of damaging the skin because of the way the laser works.  Fortunately, the 90-DAY GUARANTEE makes it easy to find out before buying if it’s even going to work for your skin type.

There are some very minor caveats to use.  Specifically, you’re not supposed to use it on your genitals.  I’ve read of some people having success down there, but I’m not going to recommend that here.  You can use it on your bikini line though, and even though it’s a sensitive area, the adjustable settings make sure your treatments are ALWAYS PAIN-FREE!

Some people have been asking, “Is Tria Laser safe for the face?”  The answer is slightly complicated.  Check this out: in the UK, it is approved for use on the face, while in the US, it is not.  And just in case you were wondering, they are absolutely just as stringent about safety and are equally worried about lawsuits in the UK as they are here in the States.  The consensus on the internet seems to be that the Tria is safe for use on the face, and that the company is just being overly cautious about it .

So, What’s The Catch?

Usually, if someone describes some kind of miracle to you, like the ability to safely, easily, and painlessly remove unwanted body hair forever, you probably just have to assume there’s some kind of catch, right?  The crazy thing is, there’s not much to complain about with this thing. I've tried to be as fair and honest as possible in this Tria Laser Hair Removal review, but honestly, it's difficult to find criticisms for this device!

The most scathing indictment, the harshest Tria Laser Hair Removal review I could find, Tria Laser Hair Removal complaints, didn’t even really have much bad to say.  Perhaps the only major issue is that the laser is kind of small, so one session takes longer than one session of shaving.

If the small laser is really going to be a huge problem, there’s always the Silk’n SensEpil, which uses almost identical technology, but has a larger applicator. (They actually refer to theirs as a “light”, not a “laser”, and it’s certainly bigger, as you would expect a light to be.)

Tria Laser Hair Removal Is Super Affordable

I’m sure a lot of you out there, like me, have fantasized about being able to afford laser hair removal treatments like the celebrities, and never have to worry about shaving, or worse, waxing (ugh!), ever again.  And, if you’re like me, seeing the actual price of these treatments laid those dreams to rest for good.

Going to a clinic, spa, or salon to get laser treatments takes many expensive treatments.  You’ll typically pay hundreds of dollars per treatment, meaning that you ultimately pay thousands to get rid of your hair.  You can get the Tria for just UNDER $200 WITH FREE-SHIPPING with their EZ-Pay system.  Click here for a Tria Laser Hair Removal coupon code to help you save money.

I realize that if you’ve been reading a bunch of Tria Laser Hair Removal reviews, I probably haven’t written much you haven’t already read about the product.  That said, it definitely has worked amazingly well for me, and I would recommend it to basically anybody who has any unwanted body hair they’re tired of dealing with.

The closest direct competitor is the Silk’n SensEpil, so it might also be a good idea to check out this Tria Vs Silk’n article to find out about the differences between the two.  If you do end up deciding to try the product with the 90-DAY MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE, remember that you can only get that at the official website, which is always the best place to get the best deal.

is the tria really worth it? would you buy it again?

I wouldn’t buy it again, because my hair isn’t ever going to grow back!  But yes, I’d definitely say it’s worth the meager price they’re asking!

  2.
Before I heard about the Tria I had tried the Silk’n Senepil but I didn’t like it because it was too big and it made it hard to use. I like the Tria a lot better because it just fits in my hand without a cord.

I have very sensitive skin and Im worried about the pain… should i use some kind of numbing cream or something?

    • avatar Poppy Lloyd says:

I have heard of people doing this so they can get their treatments done faster on the higher settings, but it’s not necessary.  Remember: the Tria has adjustable intensity settings, so if you have sensitive skin, you can keep it turned down low.

Hi I was wondering how long it takes each time you use the Tria, thanks.

    • avatar Poppy Lloyd says:

It depends on how big the area you’re treating is. For me, it was about an hour per leg. It’s easy, though; you can do it while watching TV. More importantly, after 6-8 months, it’s PERMANENT!

My sister bought me one of these for Christmas and I started using it a couple months ago. All I can say is wow this thing actually works!

  6.
Is this the best at home laser for hair removal? I was also looking at the Silk and Sensepil?

  7.
Great product! I saw it on TV and looked up online and found your review. You convinced me! (Kim Kardashian didn’t LOL!) Anyway I wanted to say thanks for writing this up and posting it, I’m very VERY happy with my purchase. It’s been months since I stopped using it and I have no sign of hair coming back!

  8.
I used it a couple times and it dindt work!!!

  9. avatar shayne marie says:

I have VERY hair legs… like really thick… will it still work for me? it’s like not normal…

  10. avatar Donna Day says:

Got mine as a gift and it actually sat on my shelf in the closet for months befor I tried it on a whim! LOL! I’ve used it maybe 6 or 7 times now and I’m really starting to see a big difference in the amount of hair!

  11. avatar Noah Clark says:

How does this compare to shaving?

    • avatar Poppy Lloyd says:

Well, it lasts forever, which is a lot longer than shaving.  It takes a little longer than shaving for each treatment, though.  It is cleaner than shaving, though, and you’re not going to cut yourself or get razor burn. It’s about as easy as shaving.

  12. avatar Kirstenn K says:

Can I use this on my bikini line? I’m sooooo sick and tired of waxing!!!

    • avatar Poppy Lloyd says:

Yes! It’s actually really great for the bikini line, because it’s cordless, handheld and small enough to reach any area. And unlike waxing, it doesn’t hurt!

  13.
Do you think it’s really worth it? It’s way more expensive than shaving.

    • avatar Poppy Lloyd says:

Well, if you consider how much you’d spend in the long run on razors and shaving cream, it’s actually much, much cheaper than shaving! Once you’re done with the Tria, your hair will be gone forever!

  14. avatar king of spade says:

I just finished my treatments, I think. It took about 6 months to get rid of the hair! Thanks

  15. avatar Margareth Connelly says:

I used to get waxed at the salon pretty regularly. It hurt like the dickens and the cost really added up over the years! Oh, and the freakin irritation I’d get sometimes! Hair isn’t meant to be ripped out like that! SOOOO glad I found out about the Tria!

  16.
Is it really permanent? I don’t want my hair coming back after i think I’m already done lol
